The miniBatt Slim Wireless Charger

The miniBatt Slim Wireless Charger

With the addition of wireless charging on the iPhone since the 2017 models, in Applesfera we have analyzed a few chargers of this type. The one we’re dealing with today is the miniBatt brand and is called UltraSlim for a very simple reason: it’s a super thin wireless charger. In fact, it’s the finest we’ve tried in Applesfera.

A wireless charger designed to travel

The truth is that charging an iPhone wirelessly is an added addition that brings comfort in everyday life. It’s not essential, but it’s okay to have it there. In the past we have analyzed several wireless chargers for iPhone.

Not even the Peel charger we saw a few months ago is that fine. The 3.4mm minibatt charger is below 5mm of Peel’s. The rest of its dimensions are also quite compact as it is hidden when we place an iPhone XS (one of the narrowest of all compatible ones) on top of the charger.

This makes the UltraSlim a perfect charger for travel. When you have it in your hand, you don’t even plan to put it in a travel bag or suitcase. You roll the wire and throw it in. As an added, it has a very low weight of only 30 grams counting the cable. So you won’t have to worry about me occupying or weighing too much in your suitcase, either.

-No doubt: this is the lightest and most compact charger we have tested so far-

Another of the doubts that usually arise with this type of chargers is whether they are able to do their task when the iPhone is protected by a case. We tested with the official Apple without any problems. Without a cover, the charger has a thin rubber disc so that when depositing the terminal it does so smoothly.

One last point in favour I find is that the cable is integrated into the charging disc. This has the advantage that you avoid having to remember to put charger and cable in and even have another USB cable in your life. However, the miniBatt UltraSlim does not get rid of what I consider a small-big nuisance in wireless chargers: LED lights.

Very few models (which I know, only Peel’s) lack a annoying little light that tells you if your iPhone is charging properly or not. This model has it, although at least it is located on the USB-A port and not integrated into the base. It bothers less than in other locations.

Finally, let’s talk about its price. For 25.90 euros it is above the usual suspects of online stores. But this miniBatt model justifies it by its very small dimensions and weight that we have never seen in a wireless charger.
